Basic Rules of Fire Prevention
- Only the minimum amount of chemical substances necessary for an experiment should be stored in a laboratory.
- Before an experiment using chemicals or high pressure gases, you should fully understand their properties
and the emergency measures against related accidents. (See the material safety data sheet.) - When experiment equipment is being operated, do not leave the place but pay attention to the experiment.
- Always clean the experiment stand and keep flammable or combustible materials away from the place.
- Do not connect multiple power plugs of experiment devices to one outlet. For the extension of the power supply, contact the safety security team.
- Assuming a fire breaks out, conduct emergency evacuation drills with your colleagues and identify the location of emergency exits and fire extinguishers in advance.
